As on now for Tamil movies, Tamil actors and directors are having good reputation in Telegu film industry as the peoples are eagerly watching Tamil movies and they were encouraging the talents from Tamil. So famous directors and actors films which are duped in Telegu are doing well in collections from Andhra as compared to Tollywood direct films some times.
Films like Anniyan (Telegu: Aapradigutu), boys and recently 7th sense did outstanding collections in Tollywood. So producers in Tollywood feel that this is going to be an problem for Tollywood. Even due to 7th sense release no films had released in Tollywood for this Deepavali.
So now Tollywood producers association said that we are not opposing Tamil films in Telegu but we want to have certain rules to release Tamil films in Telegu like increase in tax from 20 to 50% and no other language films during festivals like Dasara, Deepavali and Sankaranthi (Pongal) etc. A committee has been organized to propose this to government for implementation this may come to effective on January 1st in Andhra. A film like Sankar’s Nenban is going to be in trouble, since this film planned to release on Telegu also as 3 Raskals for this Pongal.
